The Invisible Life of Addie Larue by V.E. Schwab

The Invisible Life of Addie Larue is a story about a woman who in a moment of desperation makes a deal with a god. Specifically a god that answers after dark, and you never pray to the gods who answer after dark. She is given immortality but no one will ever remember who she is. It’s a pretty painful scenario if you ask me. However, one day, she is in a bookstore when the clerk remembers her from the day before and thus begins our story. Schwab writes a very lovable character in Addie Larue that you will root for, feel bad for, and get frustrated with. It’s really a story about a life that can’t be remembered. Addie is so determined to make her mark on the world and its enjoyable watching her learn new ways to do so.
